For Harvest Caye: looking for less artificial, more Belize-y things to do

We will be visiting in November, so have plenty of time to research more and get feedback from others. Hopefully, those of you who have gone by then will write more about your experience there.

I did find some information about-- some pre-build, some post-build.

All food for thought.

SiL and DiL did the Lamanai (spl?) ruins tour and loved it. I did a snorkel tour off the ship and really enjoyed it (Belize has a fabulous barrier reef) - but admittedly this was all before Harvest Caye came along.

Loved, loved, loved Lamanai. Those howler monkeys in the tree gave the premises a Jurassic Park sound. It's a shame that it doesn't seem to be on offer from HC. Glad I went when I did. Also, Carnival didn't offer it. Only Altun-Ha which I understand isn't as good. So that time, like you, I also did a snorkel tour booked independently.

We stopped at Harvest Caye last month. I was not looking forward to getting off the ship, but am I glad I did!! We had a wonderful beach day!! It's so beautiful and the pool was amazing (which we didn't see until near the end)!! I remember wishing we were there a little longer. Lots of loungers, small drink selection, attentive waiters and the ship photographer came right in water chest high to take pics of everyone. Would definitely return!!!:D

I have been to Belize 5 times and it is my least favorite stop I always wished they would swap it out.

That being said folks taking about city tours I would not do that there is nothing to see.

If your not checking out the reef which I did like I did not find anything else appealing I will be glad to check the new island out.

I doubt I stay long prob go back to the ship but also if your off on a excurision you also can not use a UBP which I am sick of hearing about that . Buy a couple and wait till you get back on the ship geez
