Mini bars

Recommended Posts

We had a suite on Voyager in September and minibar meant . A really small refrigerator that isn't very cold stocked with overpriced soda and water. I've read that some people have the cabin attendant remove everything and they use it for their own beverages but we felt the room itself was colder than the mini fridge. We also brought our own cooler on wheels (small one we got in target) and our room attendent kept it filled with ice (also removed all the exess water ) everyday. It was perfect for keeping our wine cold.

I also had the items removed from the minibar fridge and put in my soda cans. They never got ice cold so i poured them in a cup and added ice. I also brought a cooler but didn't drink enough of our self-supplied beverages every day to use more ice than what already came in the ice bucket we had as standard room issue from our attendant.

When we first met our room steward, we tipped him and asked him to clean our our fridge because we wanted to use it.

He removed it by the first night and we had a fridge for our sodas and water.

The drinks in the fridge were not ice cold but they were cold enough.

I've never been into the mini-bar (or bar fridge) on board.

However..my past two cruises, RCCL has tried to slip mini-bar charges on my AMEX ...AFTER I've settled up my bill on board.

Has anyone else experianced this or am I just unlucky.
