Tap Water in Buenos Aires

Is it safe to drink tap water in Buenos Aires?

Yes, the water is safe with the same cautions you would have about drinking tap water anywhere beyond your home base--it will have a different set of minerals than your home water supply and may cause an upset stomach. i don't usually drink the tap water in BA or when I travel anywhere else in the world for this reason.

However, if your stomach is strong enough, it's not a problem. I use tap water for tea and coffee as well as for washing vegetables and have never had a problem. In some countries you risk an infection if water gets in your eyes. Argentina is nothing like that....

However, out of an abundance of caution I usually drink Villavicencio brand of bottled spring water from the Andes.
