Well, there are two. One goes to the jungle by San Gervasio ruins. It is 3.5 hours long approx. Soft drinks and water are provided. This tour is up and ready to run. The other goes to the eastside of the island and goes down a sand trail. You have a snack at the beach. It is approx. 5 hours long. Unfortunately, it is not ready to run again yet. You can book both through your cruise line.

Can you book directly?
Yes
Do these companies have websites?
There are several websites where you can book an ATV tour.

http://www.travelnotes.cc in the Cozumel section

http://www.cozumelinsider.com

http://gocozumel.com/wild-tours-atv/

Just because they are listed on separate websites doesn't mean they are different tours.

Helpful?

Enjoy your cruise.

The only tour that is ready to go on Monday is the Jungle ATV. And no, you can not book this one direct. I spoke to the owner of the beach ATV yesterday morning...he expects his tour to be another week or so, hopefully. Yes, the road is still closed to the eastside but he is getting a permission slip to get past the roadblock to his tour site. There is one independent tour that is not going to reopen so the info on the websites isn´t 100% accurate at this point.

What about the Dune Buggy tour....I booked through Cozumel cruise Excursions (Island Marketing). I asked if there is any problem getting the full tour (east side) and she said no problems. What do you think...(11/22 is the date).

Whole east side...that is interesting since the road will most likely NOT be open the entire way around by then (Emily hit us in July and the road still wasn´t open when Wilma hit us). It is open to Mescalitos but that is it. It is not passible between Coconuts and Chen Rio...the road is gone and there is a ditch of about 8 feet deep where it used to be. All I can say is good luck! Sounds very interesting.

Solita, would you be so kind as to tell this board what company locally in Cozumel it is that you work for. You seem very geared towards promoting ship only tours and are trying to disregard the independent operators on island who also service cruise ship clients. This thread was started by a cruise passenger requesting a tour review and you immediately monopolized it before any other cruisers could even lend thier own experiences.

This tour has never gone to the right from Coconuts along the Eastern Coast. It has always gone up the middle of the island and left from Mescalitos to the offroad. Where possible, as with the ATV tours, they are going to venture off road along the eastern coast. The trail will obviously be changed, but Dune Buggy Dan promises a wild ride with a great picnic/lunch and lots of fun!

Are you referring to the Dune Buggy Tour through Island Marketing? I am so confused. We have this booked for 11/22 and do not want some kind of abbreviated version that may or may not be enjoyable. Is Dune Buggy Dan the guy we are with? HELP.

The beach ATV will be operating by at least Tuesday. And the road is open to Mescalito´s now!
