Havana tips

Recommended Posts

Just walking around the town is a fabulous experience.

There is also a nice walk along the prom, towards where they fire the cannon on an evening.

If you turn left as you come out of the terminal and walk till you get to the bus terminus there is a huge indoor market. It sells some unusual and very cheap items.

Right from the terminal, on the other side of the road is the ho-ho bus stop which will take you all around Havana.

Enjoy yourself it's absolutely great.

We did the hoho bus, what a nightmare, we drove along seafront and a high wave caught us, we were upstairs on an open top and we got soaked. Then we were dodging branches from trees health and safety nightmare. Couldn't wait to get back to the ship as we were frozen. Day after we did a private tour with Havana journeys in a classic car. That I can highly recommend

We took a horse and carriage to see the sights cost the same as the open topped bus and lasted 1 hour 40 min with a really informative guide. Went back to the ship and came out about 8 felt really safe visiting local bars our fav was Called the Two Brothers and as you come out of the terminal go left about 5 min and it's on your right brilliant Daquaris really reasonable prices.

We liked the HOHO bus ($10) just as you leave the terminal. Ask if you don't see anyone. The girl had no uniform on. Go around a full circuit then go back for lunch. Then go to the park and walk around that area and walk back.

As mentioned it's nice just walking around where the ship docks.

Go to Hemmingway's Bar.

Get money at ATM as you leave the terminal walk straight ahead through the square. ATM on the left hand corner one block back After customs, the lines inside the terminal is huge. Just walk around everyone to walk out.

Don't pay for ship "private" classic car. There are heaps outside the terminal and also lots parked at the park (you will see them from the HOHO bus.
