Southampton Boat Show

We have just booked a cruise from Southampton starting on the 17th. September 2017.

 

When we went to book our usual hotel near the terminal we found out that it, and a lot of others nearby were fully booked because of the Boat Show. We've ended up in a hotel near Eastleigh which does Park & Cruise with taxi transfers.

 

The show starts on Friday the 15th. Sept. until the 24th. Sept., so it might be as well to be aware of the situation during that time.

According to CPS car parking attendants, this is the busiest time of year in Southampton and if the football team are also playing at home it can be a nightmare of a journey getting to the port.

If anyone is in a pickle during the Boat Show (or any other time for that matter), I can recommend the Boathouse in Hythe; huge rooms and great views of Southampton Water from rooms 2,3, 4 and 10 (family room). We always book various family members in there when they come to visit.
