Taxi or car rental and kids car seats

Hi,

 

we're going to be in Barbados for the day in April and we're trying to decide whether to decide between renting a car or hiring a taxi. We don't mind the driving and navigating if we rent, we're used to small roads, winding roads and driving on the left but hiring a taxi looks fun and we would get the taxi driver tour guide too. Does anyone have an up to date price for renting a taxi in Barbados? Also, does anyone know if they can provide high back booster seats for kids, especially if its a taxi that we just hire from the port?
