Casino Rating System

Recommended Posts

How is casino play rated under the new system in place since March 2016? My husband plays mainly craps. Under the old system he was eligible for casino rates. But after our September 2016 cruise he was told he did not have enough points to receive casino rates. I don't believe his level of play changed. He did receive a certificate that would entitle him to a free cruise for two on particular sailings or he could use the certificate for a $1,000 discount on any sailing within one year. We just returned from a 9-day cruise and he did not receive any benefits because he did not have enough points. When we asked how points were earned, the casino manager gave some vague answer like, "It's theoretical. The dealers monitor your play." We always thought that ratings were based on average bet and length of play. But now I am wondering if the rating is based on how much you win or lose. He received the free cruise certificate after losing money in the casino, but received nothing when he won money.

I have also wondered how their point system worked. We just got off a 7 day and played table games 2-4 hours a day but didn't receive any kind of offer before we got off today. Following this to see if anyone has an answer.

My husband & I are slot players.

Penny & quarter with max play but do not go higher than $2.50 on the penny ones.

I REALLY MISS the old club where you got both...cabin discounts rebate $$

Anyway, on our last Oasis cruise I did not make the theoretical minimum of 2100 points for the cruise... 300 average per day.....think I made about 1700. I just was having no luck & refused to keep donating. We have been members for a very long time & I did hear you only have to qualify once. When you are in the club once ,you are always in it.

Not sure how the new system was going to work. I keep getting email & regular mail from casino royale but they all have specific date which I do not care for. We are on the west coast so the cruises are harder for us to get to.

I picked a cruise on the Harmony for this September which would be convenient for us. I called the casino club & said I was interested for that particular cruise in a category GS. I was not sure if they could discount for me or not.

Apparently they have a very confusing formula now & they kept rattling off a bunch of numbers that made no sense to me.

I stopped the conversation & just said....what is the bottom line for me with on OUT THE DOOR PRICE.

They said $1700 each total, out the door.

In the old days it would have been better than that with also cash rebate.

But I thought that very fair especially with me not playing as much on my last cruise.

I was scared they would only say you could go on designated cruises by them.

So...off to our first Harmony cruise in September !

Theoretical is the technical term given to your expected losses based on game played x average bet x time played. Most players believe it is based on their losses when in most cases it isn't.

I'll post the opposite than others that were in the club. We never were invited but as I read here it sounded like a good idea to call and see. We already had a cruise and cabin selected so if they didn't offer anything no big deal. Well we called and got a casino rate for $600 off the D+ discount on a balc. I was happy as that's about what I lost on my last cruise. Interesting though I qualified but my wife didn't. She asked how come but they couldn't tell us.

I can see how people that were in the program would think this isn't as good but for others you might qualify so give them a call and check. Of course we are a couple that go every night and afternoon on sea days. I doubt they would give discounts to anyone that plays. They just won't let us know the formula! 😝

Interesting about the 300 points a day. Makes sense but still that's $1500 in a day! Yikes.

I am still clueless on how players are rated on the tables.

First night I played only tables, made several $500 bets, yet my total points after day 1 was 208. I had over 10,000 pts on Serenade and bet less.

I played the 25 cent slots with a $20 bill, and received 50 pts. Don't understand how I could play into the wee hours and bet a lot while only playing a half hour with a $20 and rack up one fourth the points?? Points on tables are subjective while points on slots are electronic.

That is TOTAL coin in. You could put in $100......get no play and then basically few points.

Or, you could put in $100, get lucky and play for a few hours and get tons of play and therefore tons of points.

To join, you must do it on the ship by the last night. Find the casino host and let them know when you first get there and then later in the week to see how you are doing.

The hosts have told me that it is much harder to qualify playing table games.

You can each qualify. Both my husband and I are members. We each get separate discounts and mailings.

If they are rating you the same way as in Vegas then they are using the ADT.

It stands for Average Daily Theoretical. This is your average bet size for one casino day. So it is best to play the same amount daily. If you just play a little in 1 day then your average will drop as they average it over 3 days.

There is very little comparison with slot play and your ADT will be much higher. The house advantage is much higher and the game is additive and the casino will lay out the red carpet for you.

But occasionally I skip a day at the casino and then just play longer on another day to try and reach the 2100 points for the week.....that is now just my own goal.

It seems...as I said before...once you are officially in the club, you are always in.

Proven to me by the fact I did not come close to that goal on my last cruise yet still gave me a decent discount on the next.

The ADT is based on your last 3 visits to the casino. So it doesn't matter if you miss some days without any play.

The 2100 points target is important and you will automatically get your Comps if it is still at 2100.

The ADT tells the casino what type of player you are. Mass Grinder, mass, premium mass or higher.

Once you attain a certain level you would enjoy the perks for that level for a year.

The casino may vary their target levels depending on the volume of business they get in their business.

This has changed, to being given a casino level "per cruise", thus your reevaluated "every cruise" and don't have an annual level!

In $USD$ how much do you have to loose to accumulate these points?

This is gambling. It depends on how lucky you are. You may even win. So it is not correct to think in terms of $ per point.

However on the casino ship that I frequent you can buy the points from the casino. This is useful to know for those that need to hit 1200 points mark at the end of their cruise.

I use the ETG terminal and play roulette. I bet $10 on zeros and $180 on outside bets, red and black. You lose $20 every round until you are over the points target. This is an expensive way of getting points and I only do this if I am already close to the target points.

Gambling is like smoking. You can do it but ther are no true benefits to either

But smoking you can quit.

Was at over 3000 pts entering tonight's play. Pit Boss and Casino Host tonight said my points should be much higher tomorrow. Casino Host says any other freebies like discounts and specialty dinning have been discounted.
