cruzin2paradise Posted November 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2005 I received my 2005-07 Carnival Book in the mail yesterday (I just love looking at it - it never gets old). Anyway, we are planning our next cruise for the end of May/beginning of June 2007 and I was just browsing through the book and came up to the page that has the Carnival Liberty listed regarding the 8-day Exotic Eastern itinerary and it lists it with the dates from now until like April of 2006, then (and I quote) "December 9, 2006, onward" -- So I went searching through the book at the Western itinerary and same thing -- then I went to the page where they list the Mediterrianian cruises and it ends in 2006 . . . so, I called Carnival and asked them to please "define" the word "onward" -- did it mean that as of December 9, 2006 the Liberty will only be doing the 8-day Eastern, 8-day Western and 6-day . . . they don't know . . . but she did say that it's possible that the new ship (the Freedom) might be taking over the Mediterrianian cruises. Anyway - it's purely speculation on my part, but I was curious if anyone else would infer the same thing I did. Frankly, if it is true, I will be booking the Liberty instead of the Triumph. We shall see.
brenchris Posted November 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2005 I believe I read or heard the same thing about the Liberty.
mafiadon Posted November 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2005 I have a cruise booked on the Liberty for April 28,2007 for the 8 day Eastern and just had the price reduced yesterday for about $40, hope this is a good sign of more to come. It has great ports. If you are looking to book this one do so now that the price has gone down. Linda
Rowan555 Posted November 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2005 I hope not - NEW ORLEANS wants the Freedom, darn it!
Sablerose Posted November 12, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2005 I hope not - NEW ORLEANS wants the Freedom, darn it! But if the Freedom is going to take the Med, then it's pretty much a lock that NO would get the Liberty! Whee! I think that's a great thing either way. Rowan555 Posted November 12, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 12, 2005 Okay, I can live with that too!
cheshyrkat Posted November 13, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2005 Unless they want to wait until 2008 for the newfangled, super duper, extra huge, as-of-now-unnamed one to come out and put it in New Orleans. Of course, I'd be happy if we just got Conquest back. I don't like leaving out of Galveston as much...:(
Rowan555 Posted November 13, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 13, 2005 We're not looking forward to going to Galveston either. We normally have my dad drop us off at port, so between the drive, the hotel stay, and parking costs this cruise is costing us an extra $250 or so. I will be SO happy when we can "cruise from home" again.
