On Board Bookings

We are booked on a cruise this June, but have already decided on a cruise in June 2018.

Is it a good idea to book when we are on the ship this year? What extras do we get, OBC, discounts etc.?

Should we just register for future cruise benefit?

What is the best option?

The extra on board credit you get by booking on board or using a future cruise is exactly the same.

Note that a future cruise involves a payment, think it still is £50 per person, which come off your deposit when you eventually book. It is not just a case of registering.

We always make a Future Cruise Deposit when on board, even if we know which cruise we want. We then watch prices and wait and see if any extra incentives are offered for the cruise and book it then.

I have found that the extra OBC you get from booking on board is negated by booking with a TA who's rates are usually cheaper . e.g. the cruise we have just booked with a TA was £76 per person cheaper than P&O direct and the last time we booked on board we got an extra £50 pp OBC.

I agree with others that sometimes the discount that if you booked with a TA is more than the extra OBC.However you can have the cruise transferred to the TA who you booked your current cruise with. This is what we are probably going to do as our TA has agreed to give us the discount in retrospect if we book onboard.I also like the fact that you only pay £50 deposit.:)
