Short story, free go or loose it cruise in Cloud 9 Spa Balcony cabin. Have over 60 cruises under belt but haven't been on Carnival since late 90's. I feel lost. Do I go ahead and buy FTTF so I'm not sitting forever for a tender? Have had drinks included for years so what's going rate for Cosmo, large Premium water? Is the smoke as bad as everyone says? Food recommendations? What do I not miss? What do I miss? See, total confusion, lol. Any suggestions will be much appreciated and I'll do the same if you have ?'s on any of other lines.

Thanks,

Debbi

Lots of questions! Re: tender. Looks like Belize would be the only concern. It can be a pretty good wait because of the time it takes to tender to shore. FTTF might be a benefit. But you also get tender priority if you book an excursion through the ship. Smoke can be a concern if you hang out in/near the casino. I think the Alchemy Bar has been added since I have been on the Magic. Hang there to get your Cosmo. One of the places to definitely to go. Drinks are in the $10 range. The Cheers program runs about $55/day if you tend to bend your elbow quite a bit. Also be sure to go to brunch on the sea days. Hope you enjoy the Magic. She's one of my favorites, but I have only cruised about 30 times and my experience is limited to Carnival and Royal.

nhsails, FTTF only gets you priority on the tender from the ship. You have to queue along with everyone else for the return trip.

If you gamble, you will have to deal with the smoke as it is the only inside smoking spot and it can be filled with smoke. We either walked on the outside promenade to avoid the smoke or in the evenings would leave the theater and take deck 4 to get to the comedy club. It was a bit of a hassle, but we didn't like going through the casino if we could help it.
