New Orleans Hotels? Country Inn vs Hampton Inn vs Old No 77

Hello all!

We'll be staying in New Orleans for 3 nights before our cruise on the Carnival Triumph during Spring Break.

We'll need two rooms as we are 1) a family of 4 (children ages 1 and 7), and 2) a couple of seniors.

As of now, we've booked two rooms at the Hampton Inn and Suites. The price was around $230/night with tax (and that's not a suite).

Would the Country Inn and Suites be a better option? From the pics, it looks to have more character, but also maybe a little more run down/older?

And I LOVE everything about the Old No. 77 Hotel and Chandlery, but I'm not sure our motley crew would fit in there?

I'd appreciate any suggestions you have. This will be our first time in New Orleans!
