American Queen Tasting the Deep South of the USA on the water with the American Queen Steamboat by Berthyett In terms of atmosphere, the multi national guests are served by an all-American staff who were utterly faultless – perhaps due to a generous off-and-on working pattern. This is perhaps best felt in the dining experience. There’s the outdoor River Grill, the delightfully relaxed buffets of the Front Porch Café or, for a more considered experience, the J.W. White Dining Room. This being America, expect only the most generous of portions. Meals are all washed down with complimentary wine and beer while teas, coffees, juices, soft drinks and bottled water are included throughout the cruise. Queen Victoria Wonderful Holiday by signer1 We thoroughly enjoyed the excursions we had booked particularly La Palma which is very quaint, we also enjoyed the excursion to Casablanca and were escorted round the Mosque then on to Ricks Cafe with memorabilia of the film Casablanca. The excursion in a quaint old tram in Lisbon is not to be missed, we were served Port wine and little custard tarts which are a local speciality and were delicious. However it was too choppy around Madeira to have a tender and were rather disappointed to miss this port but it did not stop us enjoying the fireworks on New Years Eve that were viewed from the ship. Regal Princess Regal Delight, and Much Better than Last Cruise! by ian441672 We were lucky on our second week to do the Chefs table Lumiere, and this was very special. It is very popular and sold out usually upon boarding, but we got in on dead on midday on our 2nd week (back to back cruises) and were put on the waiting list straight away (by Michael again!), and this was confirmed the next day. A tour of the galley, Q&A wit the executive chef, free flowing proper champagne, 5 big portioned hors d'oeuvres, then a 5 course deluxe dinner on a crystal curtained round table just for the 10 of us, waited on very attentively, again with free flowing wine. Superb night. Continue reading... Regal Delight, and Much Better than Last Cruise!
