Freebies

Recommended Posts

Having read some posts on another site, I thought it might be interesting to have a list of freebies available.

Art auctions.....

* Free bubbly.

* Flyers in the Daily Sun (lucky door prizes), "purple chair" draws (special chairs you had to get in quickly to get), a draw for all people who have bought pieces and a trivia card special (you had to see the art guy in the gallery and answer a question to get a ticket) to name a few.

Thanks to Chaz for info.

if yo go to the captains "cocktail" party you get free drinks then also free nibblies. Anyone can go. It is on the first formal night (2nd night on board i think).

dan...if you time it right you could actually go to both of them ( there are two for different seating dinners) it is on just before dinner.

I am sure you could get quite a few drinks here.........

Karon,

You have a great point... its a pitty they wereonly serving VB and champaign at the cocktail party on the sky.. I dont drink either..

What call it a cocktail party and not serve cocktails???

re: olympics.. I must have missed those last time.. Im there!!

My brother and I played shuffle board for drinks with looser buying 3 a go...

it was quite interesting when i was down 6 drinks and going for double or nothing... It sure made for a fun game...

Lookers on were wondering why we were taking it so seriously with us asking random people sitting on the deck minding their own business to judge if the puck was in a certain number or not..

When we explained it was alcohol on the line everyone seemed to understand...

For the record i lost....

Stupid judges..

And if you are a past passenger on P&O and asscoiated cruises you can get an invite to the Captain's Club cocktail party on the 2nd formal night. Simply fill in the card that will be in your cabin when you board, and drop it in the box in the Purser's Lobby.

Bubbly was only provided at the Art Auction on first and last sea days, at least that's how it worked on our cruise - and one night they had a cocktail party for people who had brought paintings, except they didn't put a date on the invite, so nobody turned up, because they didn't know what night to go!

Does anyone out there know (P&O doesn't) if we stayed at a P&O resort (Brampton Is, owned by P&O then) can we claim that as a past passenger so we can go to the 2nd captains cocktail party?

Any attempt to get a free drink :o or two.

When we were on in Sept they also served Rum Punch Cocktails, juice, wine (red, white and bubbly) and if you asked for it soft drinks!

Cheers,

Chaz:)

p &o has sold all their resorts another way to get free drinks on sky last month we hooked up with 2 stunners who caught the captains eye at cocktail party he invited us for drinks in adjoining rainbow bar i think it helped as i spoke italian to him as well, if you are interested yes he had to pay for the drinks just like us, i suppose he gets them cheaper

The last few times we have travelled there haven't been cards in the cabins for Captain's Club. There has been a small note in the Sky/Sun Daily. Each time it has required the completion of a form to be collected from the purser's desk.

If you are a past passenger I would suggest going to the Purser's on about the 2nd day and asking for the form. Another hint, make sure you complete a separate form for each person or you will get a single invite and therefore only one entry in the lucky draw.

Cheers,

Chaz:)

When we were on the Sky last year we were quite friendly with the casino staff. In fact they came out drinking with us after they finished.

The rules are (were) if they drink on deck with passengers they pay full price (might be different for the Captain). But if they drink in the staff area drinks were $1.

An interesting note was that all staff had to be off passenger decks by midnight or 1 hour after their shift finished. And apparently the rules were enforced and there were penalties for breaking the rules (the guys wouldnt elaborate on what they were).
