kingstonKouple72 Posted February 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2017 Going to be in San Pedro for a day before our cruise. Wondered if there are any good hat shops in the area. I am not talking ball caps or the kind of fedora's I can buy at Walmart. Looking for good quality felt, paper or straw fedora's or trilby's. Thanks

Thanks That's a tough one....Traditional hat shops are not the most popular type of business here in the LA area nowadays...not really the local fashion. And, San Pedro is really a small town in a way...not that much of a variety of retail. You could take an Uber or cab over to Long Beach where there's this one in the Shoreline Village area: http://www.villagehatshop.com/viewstore/8 Shoreline Village is a fairly touristy little shopping complex across the yacht harbor from the Aquarium of the Pacific...and also puts you a free shuttle ride from the Queen Mary...and near a LOT of restaurants...so, you could make it a multi-purpose trip...even if you don't find a hat you like there... Good luck...
Cruisin' Chick Posted February 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2017 I very rarely see a hat store in LA. Maybe an accessory store that has a hat section. I know where there's one in Ventura (at the Harbor) but that would be a long way's from San Pedro.
SadieN Posted February 22, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Isn't there a Millenary shop just south of the 10/just east of the 405? Remember seeing their sign from the 405. Years ago there was a thread about a hat shop. He posted the name.

Years ago there was a thread about a hat shop. He posted the name. The sign you see from the 405 is actually NORTH of the 10...at around the Santa Monica Blvd. exit...but, it's not a shop, it's actually the factory for a manufacturer/designer of women's fashion hats...this company: https://www.louisegreen.com/ I don't think they have a retail store there...and it's a long way from San Pedro... kingstonKouple72 Posted February 22, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Thanks for the replies folks. Much appreciated. There is a quality shop here in Ontario, but I have to drive a few hours away to get there. Anytime I get to Toronto I get suckered in to spending a few hundred. :)
KeepCalmBearOn Posted February 26, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2017 Millinery shop in San Pedro? Yes, I believe it is next to the blacksmith's shop across from the stagecoach depot... Sorry, couldn't resist :)
SadieN Posted February 26, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 26, 2017 Googled for you. 'Hat shops in Los Angeles'. Also found some on Yelp. About 5 shops show up in LA, not including Lids. Louise Green is a women's shop. Gooring Brothers might have what you're looking for.
