OVERWHELMED - FLL Post Cruise Hotel

I have been scouring these boards, reviews, and hotel web sites and am now in "to much info overload". This is what I do. We need a place in Ft. Lauderdale post-cruise, just one night but would like to stay on the beach. Doesn't have to be 4*, just a nice clean place. Any help. Oh, January 5. Priceline worries me, but would be willing to try.
