Las Olas Boulevard between Southeast 3rd and Southeast 15th avenues will satisfy any desire for restaurants and bars. http://www.lasolasboulevard.com/

Afterwards check out Riverwalk http://www.goriverwalk.com/ and be sure to complete you visit to Ft Lauderdale with a ride on the Water Taxi http://www.watertaxi.com/FortLauderdale/FLLHome.Asp ;)

We ate at the most fabulous restaurant which sits right on the Intercoastal Waterways, the Blue Moon Fish Company. Very, very nice -- make reservations. You don't have to dress up fancy, but you don't want to eat in your shorts and tank top either. Great food, great service, and amazing ambience.

Before our meal, we wondered into a Greek restaurant/bar just down the street from this restaurant, Athena's Grill on the Sea. We had drinks at the bar with a complementary humus dip appetizer -- delish. From there, it was a short pleasant walk to the Blue Moon Fish Company. After dinner, we walked back to Athena's, because a belly dancer was dancing there that night.

Two great suggestions!
