River tours?

My wife and I will be in Belize on March 9th and would like to do a river tour. The problem we are having is that all of the tours we have found require minimum numbers of people to reserve. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations on tours in Belize. :confused:

We'll be there the week after you. The Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary does a lovely river canoe tour down the Sibun River, a 45 minute drive from the port, and they come and get you. It's 3-4 hours depending on how many swims you take and how much stopping and looking at wildlife etc. You can also canoe the Cox Lagoon. There's also a very interesting trip canoeing the Barton Creek Cave, it's further down the hwy, I think about 1.5 hours from the port, and I don't know if they will pick you up, their office is in the Mountain Pine Park area.

You may want to check out www.belize-paradise.com too - they do a River, 4x4, jungle and cave expedition. It includes a ride along the Sibun River. There are no minimum numbers and you can book through most cruise lines.
