Island Princess Port or Starboard?

We hope to book the Island Princess for next Oct 06. Was hoping that someone who's been on the IP can help me decide which side is better. The order of our port stops are: Honolulu, Kauai, Maui, Kona, Hilo. We would prefer to be on the side that faces the port as much as possible.

Thanks in advance:)

We haven't been on the Island, but we've been on the Dawn at all these ports three times.

Maui (Lahaina) and Kona are both tender stops so the ship can be oriented any way during the day and change throughout the day. At Maui, the port side faced the island most of the day. At Kona, both sides are good, but starboard ws better and faced the bay and Royal Kona Resort Hotel area.

Hilo, if you dock, the view away from the dock is better, towards the city and Mauna Loa, which for us was on the starboard side. Port (the dock side) will look into a bunch of port facilities.

Honolulu, if you dock at Aloha Tower with bow in first, Aloha Tower (and dock) will be on the starboard. If you dock across from the tower like we did because a NCL ship was in, the tower will be on the port side (dock on starboard).

Kauai, we docked with port side towards the dock, but starboard had a nice view and looked at the adjacent mountain.

Either side will be good. Have a great cruise.:)
