ryzmom Posted November 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2005 I think we are staying at the Intercontinental Miami Hotel next year, but wanted to know some "tips" or "things to definitely know" before I go regarding this hotel. Is it really nice or what? Anyone stayed there for a 1 night pre-cruise? Thanks!
TrentS Posted November 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2005 GREAT choice!... Intercontinental in downtown Miami is a VERY nice hotel!... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ic/1/en/hd/miaha?irs=null It's in a great location within walking distance to Bayside Marketplace... http://www.baysidemarketplace.com/ If you get a room with a port view you can watch your ship come in in the morning. :)
TOMMYCRUISER Posted November 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2005 We just stayed there for two nights before our Explorer cruise excellent hotel and great location the staff is outstanding. It is busy though they get a lot of conferences there but not a big hassle except the elevators do get real busy early am and late afternoon. SPARKLE10 Posted November 17, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2005 Hi: Just booked Freedom of the Seas for next year's New Years Eve cruise and our TA said that the Intercontinental Miami was a very good choice for a one night pre-stay, so that's where we're staying. Happy Cruising....Sparkle

Tommy's Mommy Posted November 21, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 21, 2005 You will not be disappointed. It is a great hotel in a nice location. It is in a safe area and you can walk to Bayside Marketplace along a promenade. Pool area very nice and overlooks the bay even though it is located on a higher level of the hotel. Nice staff and very helpful. All kinds of different restaurants at Bayside and less expensive than the Intercontinental for food. Not to confuse you but make sure you are at the Intercontinental Chopin Plaza and not the one at the airport. Also, ask at the front desk and they will direct you to places to pick up snacks and stuff for your cruise all within walking distance. Ask for a room facing the port. Nothing better than waking up the morning of your cruise, opening the drapes, and seeing your ship in port.
mnsawyer Posted November 21, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 21, 2005 It's gorgeous! Carnival used to have it as a pre-post hotel but that was at years ago! Beautiful hotel...pricey but the rooms and bathrooms are to die for! We had a room facing Biscayne Bay and it was beautiful at night and during the day. Just a 5 minute walk to Bayside. Only downside is that I have heard that there is a high rise going up beside the HI and the pool only gets sun until around 11 or so and then it's blocked by the new building.
