Mariner Dining Room

We sailed the Mariner the end of October this year and yes they have tables for 2. They are extremely limited. I believe there are 8 of them. We met with the maitre'd and requested one. Depends largely on how booked your dining seating is and how many larger parties there are. We were lucky and got one. Good luck, and it doesn't hurt to smoosh the maitre'd.

You are more likely to get a table for 2 mostly depending on what type of accomodation you have - and probably somewhat by C&A level.

We've been originally assigned tables for 2 on all of our RCI cruises, by our request at reservation time - but we were in OS or higher each time.

I would a) Board early, b) Check table assignment right away, c) Talk to Maitre'd and request.

We had a table for 2 in Oct., we were in a OS and called RCI ahead of our cruise and was told since we were in a suite that we would be able to get a table for 2. The person we talked to said if we were in a stateroom that our name would have gone on a list of people requesting tables for 2.

As soon as we got on the ship we went to see our table and it was a table for 2 however it was stuck in the back of the 2nd floor apx. 10 feet from where the wait staff puts all there dishes. Would have like to have one of the 2 seat table that was along the rail so we could have looked up and down, however this spot really worked for us because the 2 tables that were by us were unused so it was as if we had our own private part of the dining room.

I don't know if either floor 1 or 3 has any 2 person table but I know when we walked around to find our table there were many more tables for 2 then we were expecting. There were at least 8 if not more 2 person tables on the 2nd floor.

Have been able to get a table for 2 the last two times we were on the Mariner. The key I think is that you need to book very early, about a year at least, and tell your travel agent that you want them to request a table for 2 for you (make sure they put a note in your reservation). Did this and did not have a problem. Did not have to get put on a waiting list when we got on board or anything.
