luvn2cruzzz Posted March 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2017 I am wondering if children enrolled in the Oceaneer Club are taken by the staff to the pool or is pool time only with their parents. thanks!
moki'smommy Posted March 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Children signed into the Oceaneer's Club and/or Lab do not leave the kid facility on the 5th floor. They most definitely are not ever taken swimming by the staff.
DCLCrazy Posted March 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2017 That's partially true. My daughter has never been taken to the pool, however, she was take in a group down to a different room where they were doing Disney trivia. I've seen them walking in a line with a guide both in the front and the back up and down the main stairs. I'm sure, thought, if this is something you don't want your child to participate in that they will honor your request. moki'smommy Posted March 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Was this recently that your child was taken out of the secure space? Years ago, they used to take kids to "not so secret deck 7" for story time, to Topsider's for meals, and to various locations for different activities. However that all stopped, at least for a while, when the concept of "secure" programming vs. open house hours was instituted. At that time, meals were served in the OC, and NO adults other than DCL CMs are permitted in the OC/Lab except during open house hours. In all fairness, I haven't been on DCL with a child in our group in the last 2 years, so the rules may have relaxed a little recently.
DCLCrazy Posted March 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Yes it was in the last year. It might be based on age. My daughter was seven at the time. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sent from my iPhone using Forums If you sign them into the programming, you are agreeing to all the policies of the programming which are currently in effect. It is in the fine print. What I find interesting it that the very strict, "no interaction at all with adults other than CM" policy which included keeping the kids within the confines of the programming area was placed upon them by Disney's legal department. It was a long time ago and there is no point in rehashing the incident that resulted in the sweeping policy changes. But I am surprised to see them relaxing rules that were handed down from corporate.
