"Next Cruise" certificate

Recommended Posts

I bought 2 "Next Cruise" certificates a long time ago and will finally be using them. They both have the same booking number on the certificates and my plan was to use them as a deposit for my husband and myself.

My question is if anyone knows if I can use EACH certificate as OBC. Apparently I can get $100 for our balcony 7 night cruise. So does that mean I can get $200 OBC??? Or will they allow only 1 certificate per stateroom as OBC, meaning I lose out on an extra $100 OBC?

One certificate per stateroom, and I don't understand how two different certificates can have the same booking number. Either the numbers are not really the booking numbers, or they made a copy of the same certificate and you really only have one.

That seems to be the confusion. I called RCI yesterday and it sounded like the gal was a newbie or it's an unusual situation.

When I purchased them they said I could use two certificates as deposits for DH and I and they each get $100 OBC for a 7 night balcony cabin (=$200). But now reading the fine print it states 1 certificate per stateroom. They definetly have the same booking number on each. RCI described it as "free floating booking number that hasn't been assigned to a cruise sailing yet." But I have 2 certificates with 2 different "certificate numbers".

Did I just lose out on this?:(

I doubt that you lost out. Only a guess, but I suspect you have a $200 deposit on one booking. You can assign any cruise to this and get on board credit based on the length of cruise you choose.

I'd call C&A and ask them the value of the deposit that is assigned to the certificate. That might clear up some things.
