Rare Jamman54 Posted March 17, 2017 Author #176 Share Posted March 17, 2017 I was getting worried. I hadn't seen you with a beer in the Red Frog or at the Atrium Bar! Happy to see you're up to your old tricks! We're sailing Pride on Aug 27th, celebrating my husband's 70th birthday & the 70th of a good friend, too. Thanks for reading. No need to worry! :D Enjoy your cruise on the Pride. What a great way to celebrate special birthdays.

CruisinRD1976 Posted March 17, 2017 #179 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Great pictures Jeff! Where will I be able to find a Caribbean colada on Sunday?? It looks so good! And can I ask you, do they actually weigh the luggage that you are checking or is the 50 pounds more of a "suggestion". I am packing now and I'm concerned that the suitcases are probably a little more then 50 pounds...!
Rare Jamman54 Posted March 17, 2017 Author #180 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Jeff do you purchase the "Cheers" beverage package. No we did not. Patti is not a big drinker so it wouldn't be worth the cost. I could probably keep my end of the bargain though. :D Great pictures Jeff! You can get a Caribbean Colada at the Red Frog Pub and the Red Frog Rum Bar for sure. The 50 pound weight limit that I was talking about earlier was all about the flight to Tampa and not about the ship. They don't weigh the luggage on the ship. Instead I have found my hero...or my spirit animal...or my twin! A Blue Moon and poker at 6am???? WHAT!!! Here I thought I was the only one!! :D So even though I'm on a totally different ship and totally different itinerary I am so excited for this review! Thank you so much for taking me along! Rare Jamman54 Posted March 18, 2017 Author #191 Share Posted March 18, 2017 (edited) At this point, Patti returned to our cabin to unpack our luggage which had arrived. After spending some time at the Red Frog Rum Bar and the Serenity Bar, I returned to the cabin around 3:15pm to get ready for the muster drill. At around 3:50pm the alarm was sounded, and we reported to muster station “B” two decks down on Deck 3. The drill was over fairly quickly, and afterwards Captain Nicolini announced that because they were still loading provisions and waiting for crew, we would be sailing at 7:30pm. The Norwegian Jade however, was sailing on time….. We made our way up to the Red Frog Rum Bar for an informal meet and greet. From there we could see that even though we are not sailing away, the sail away party has started..... Our Cruise Director Steve leads the way….. To be continued….. Rare Jamman54 Posted March 18, 2017 Author #192 Share Posted March 18, 2017 That’s me with our new friends Krusin Kris and Ken, along with my favorite bartender Winston….. Patti’s having a Mango Swirl….. Here are a couple views of the Tampa skyline….. We went back to the cabin to get ready for dinner. We did sail away at 7:30, so we watched from our balcony. There are no pictures since there really was nothing to see in the dark. We had Late Seating, and as I mentioned earlier we were seated in a booth on the lower level….. To be continued……. Rare Jamman54 Posted March 18, 2017 Author #197 Share Posted March 18, 2017 Loving your review! Did you have tablemates since it was a booth for four? Thanks for reading! We did not have tablemates. We emailed Ken the maitre'd prior to the cruise and requested a table for two, and knowing us, he gave us this booth which was in a great location. We are not anti-social by any means, but we feel that dinner time is our time. :)
tybrkr17 Posted March 18, 2017 #198 Share Posted March 18, 2017 Carnival Pride was the first ship I had ever sailed on back in 2004. Since she was my first cruise, she holds a very special place in my heart. One of the many reasons the Spirit class is my favorite of the Carnival ships. I was on the Miracle two years ago. Thank you so much for sharing all your pictures, I feel like I am back on my first cruise again 13 years ago!!! Sadly my next cruise in May isn't on the Pride (I am doing a short 5 day cruise on the Inspiration for the first time), but I hope to return to the Pride one day! chilly1470 Posted March 18, 2017 #199 Share Posted March 18, 2017 Yessss!!!! I am from the Burgh. Well, near the Burgh, I grew up closer to Latrobe. Great meeting you too...or who knows, we may have met already! You weren't on Carnival Liberty in September 2015 were you? Met others from the Burgh and planned to exchange info. but we never ran into each other again. But always great seeing another yinzer on CC. :D Jamman...sorry for the hi-jack. But I do have a legitimate question. After your water tour in Tampa when Patti said the shops were closed permanently, are those the shops right near the cruise port? If so, that's a shame. Well, a shame regardless. No sir, I wasn't on that cruise. I am from the Beaver County area, but consider myself a Burgher, lol. Funny how that works in our area, even some from Ohio and WVA say they are from Pittsburgh in pride of the greatest team ever. We better watch out, I see Jeff is a Patriots fan, yikes!! chilly1470 Posted March 18, 2017 #200 Share Posted March 18, 2017 So happy for this, jamman. In six months, I'll be on the Pride for the first time. So, I too, am one who says OK OK ENOUGH WITH WHAT YOU AND YOUR LOVELY WIFE DID BEFORE THE CRUISE. SHOW ME MY BOAT!!!!!!! Sorry, yes, I am shouting, sorry, it's your review. Carry on as planned.
