I've read that at times the packages are available for 30% off the on board price. In your experience is this offered usually close to sailing or can it be offered several months out?

I was able to get the 30% rate about 1 and a half months out. That price was not available long, so if you see it and want the package, buy then.

Discounts on the packages cannot be predicted. Check often. Book it now and if you see a better deal cancel and rebook.

Our Navigator cruise in November has had the drink package at "20%" off since we booked almost a couple months ago. On our last cruise, it went between 20 and occasionally 30% so as mentioned just keep checking.

 

You can always book and pay now and if it goes down just cancel and rebook. Did this three times last cruise and saved about $70.
