geordielass2 Posted March 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2017 Hi looking at TA Spring 2018 Eastbound to Southampton. Disappointed to see IOS is going via Cork no expert but assume this will be a more northerly/ colder route and perhaps more choppy. We will be staying in Orlando before sailing and thought driving to FTL would be daunting so not sure how much harder it would be to go to Miami to sail on NOS and will its route be cold and choppy too. Sorry for all the questions but we had to miss out on a TA this spring as husband was too ill to travel so just trying to get it right for next spring. Clarea Posted March 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2017 If you are driving from Orlando, it's not a huge difference to push on past Ft. Lauderdale to Miami. You're already on the road for 3+ hours. Another 20-30 minutes would not be a big deal to us.

Stay overnight and relax that evening, and be one of the first onboard in the morning. :)
geordielass2 Posted March 28, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted March 28, 2017 Thank you for the info Bob hadn't realised Miami was so close to FTL. We had decided to drive down the night before, we didn't want to chance getting delayed if we left it till the day we sailed. Thanks everyone
