CCAubs Posted March 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2017 For those who have gotten married at sea (or in port!), what was the best part about getting married on a cruise ship? If you had one piece of advice to share, what would it be?
Miss Kellybean Posted March 31, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2017 The best part is that the wedding and activities are as long as your cruise. We were fortunate enough to have 30 friends and family members sail with us after our embarkation day wedding and it was a 3 day cruise - 3 day reception! dillyj Posted April 5, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2017 It was all about the extra time you get to spend with your loved ones. My advice is to make sure you spend some time with everyone. It still goes so fast! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

I got married on land, but would have loved to extend our reception to three days -- it FLEW by!

Bob46 Posted June 8, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 8, 2017 We had 17 family members join us on our cruise. We have adult kids and this was actually the first time some of them met each other. The same goes with the rest of the family members. Being thrown together for a week can be either good or bad. We lucked out and it was great for us. It worked out so well, that my side of the family now joins her side for holidays like Easter and Thanksgiving.
SailsandVeils Posted June 8, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 8, 2017 Never having to worry about the guests. My younger cousins were very active with the teen lounge/activity center and had fun the whole cruise. There were nights in the casino, people who loved going to the shows, you name it. I knew my guests comfort was taken care of, and that they were having the time of their life. It really allowed us to just enjoy getting married and all the time we had with our guests. Reportress Posted June 8, 2017 #11 Share Posted June 8, 2017 For my husband and I, we really appreciated not having to plan a lot of the minute details. We didn't want to fuss with decor, choosing napkin colors, tablescapes, etc. Getting married onboard eliminated all of that for us.

It is a little harder. Transportation is one of the biggest costs. I'm using an on land coordinator. Though I'm having massive problems, NONE of them have been related to them. All with the ship. I would have HATED to be dealing with Royal Weddings during all the changes. The on land coordinator was reliable and VERY easy to reach. And less than 1/2 the cost of the ship one. If you're doing it on ship, then it may be OK to use them.
