spongerob Posted June 7, 2004 #26 Share Posted June 7, 2004 I second the request for a Royal Princess-style replacement. Those big ships aren't necessarily welcome in a lot of places - just too many people for some ports. Completed: Sea Princess, Royal Princess, Grand Princess (3X), Caribbean Princess, Golden Princess
katisdale Posted June 7, 2004 #27 Share Posted June 7, 2004 A Royal sized replacement for the Royal Princess would be great. If designed from the hull up she could have the features of some of the bigger ships and still do the exciting exotic itineraries.
joyus Posted June 8, 2004 #28 Share Posted June 8, 2004 My suggestion is small but needful - We were on the Diamond on 5/15 and the dining rooms did not have sugar-free syrup. This is not an elaborate suggestion, just practicable. Please stock SUGAR-FREE SYRUP.
Crowsie Posted June 8, 2004 #29 Share Posted June 8, 2004 I definitely agree with the Royal-sized ships. We loved taking her to the exotics! Also...bring back the tableside pasta in traditional dining and the butlers in the suites! cnmiranda Posted June 8, 2004 #30 Share Posted June 8, 2004 Hi Joyus, they did have sugar free syrup but ran out the first day Hubby asked and they didn't have any replacements left. On the other end of the caloric scale, I wish there were glazed or chocolate covered doughnuts in Horizon. RCI does, and this would be a nice touch for Princess. Aquarian Posted June 8, 2004 #31 Share Posted June 8, 2004 bdjam, We have done PC since it started and last month on the Caribbean, I asked Robert our PC waiter if I would switch back to Traditional, would I find it the same as it was in 1999? He told me that they no longer do Cherries Jubilee and Bananas Foster tableside because one of their waiters was seriously burned when he lit the dessert he was preparing. I do remember the head waiters preparing the pasta tableside for us along with the other special things. That was special.
TWA4Ever Posted June 8, 2004 #32 Share Posted June 8, 2004 Totally agree with the bring back of smaller ships. However, Princess has some smaller ships in the new Pacific and the Tahitian. Perhaps one of these (Pacific Princess) could be used on a NY - Bermuda run, as the original Love Boat was? catdancers Posted June 8, 2004 #33 Share Posted June 8, 2004 I'd suggest that Princess require parents and their children to be booked in cabins in the very near vicinity of each other, such as next door or across the hall. Seems like it's a trend to put teens on another deck altogether which--well, you can imagine what we saw/heard on one cruise from the teens next to us. RDR Posted June 8, 2004 #34 Share Posted June 8, 2004 I think Princess Cruises are great; there are "where I belong". I would encourage them to see if there is a viable alternative to the current coffee mix used in Horizon Court. Secondly I would encourage them to consider more west coast port alternatives and itineries. For example summer is Seattle -Alaska or Vancouver - Alaska one way and winter is Los Angeles - Mexico and possibly San Francisco - Mexico. What about Seattle - Mexico or Seattle - Hawaii. (maybe the seas are too rough further north in the winter).
Druke I Posted June 8, 2004 #35 Share Posted June 8, 2004 TWA4EVER Yes, Tahitian and Pacific are great additions to the fleet. We enjoyed Pacific Princess Papeete to Sydney last November. What I asked for was more ships the approximate size of the Royal Princess, somewhere in the 50,000 GRT range. Tahitian and Pacific are much smaller, down in the 30,000 GRT range.
