We were on the Summit last October. We will be back on her on April 22. It was our first cruise. We ate at Blu every breakfast and dinner. This time we will be using the MDR and buffet. Breakfast was always good in Blu. I'm hoping it will be close in the MDR. For dinner, I think I had the standard steak almost every night. They were always very good. I would always order some fancy dinner item, with the steak as a backup. Don't forget, you can order whatever and how many items you want.

We didn't know about the grill at the buffet. We may try it for dinner and see how the steak is from there.

Great review. I'm interested in seeing the rest of the delicious food items you devoured during your stay on the Summit. My DH and 2 Teens are huge foodies. This is our first Celebrity cruise -- we are hoping Celebrity's food outclasses NCL, Carnival & RCCL.

My mother was too tired to go to dinner tonight so she stayed in the cabin to rest while my dad and I went to the dining room.

I had some kind of salad. I believe it had goat cheese and asparagus in it which is why I ordered it though it felt like I was eating a lot of dandelion leaves.

32847881723_cf2385fd6e_c.jpg

My dad had the shrimp cocktail and the wedge salad with thousand island dressing.

33277291660_47335a71f1_c.jpg

We split an order of the turkey parmesan (it was okay)

32818128864_e6b0d7b23b_c.jpg

And I had the pasta with a cream sauce and prosciutto which was good.

33277288820_f9c6801016_c.jpg

And my dad again had his steak

So the next day was again the same coffee and pastries from Café Bacio.

For an afternoon snack, I ordered pizza from room service. It is not traditional pizza - it's more like a flat bread pizza. I knew this from ordering in the past - I like this style as basically its some decent flat bread topped sauce with lots of cheese (and pepperoni).

We also stopped in bacio for an afternoon treat:

Chocolate mud pie

Caramel cake

32819579364_fd7769dcd8_c.jpg

And my dad popped up to the buffet to grab some fruit for my mom

For appetizers tonight we went with the French onion soup

33621595656_f88079c844_c.jpg

And to be honest - I don't know what this is - my dad ordered it and it was very different than the menu description because I know that he doesn't eat stuff like this. My guess is that the description said something about tomatoes and cucumber salad.

33662653555_496226a32f_c.jpg

For entrees, both my mom and I had the beef cheeks. They were excellent - very tender.

33621594356_bba49b9297_c.jpg

My dad had his regular steak and by this time I was getting tired of taking pictures of the same thing so please just sub in one of the other 10 steak pictures you've already seen.

Dessert was chocolate cake and whipped cream:

33662651585_54c49847b0_c.jpg

And a vanilla cake

33621592756_61d234916e_c.jpg

I think this was the last time we ate dessert in the dining room - the options at café bacio were much more inspired and made with better ingredients.

Meatloafsfan....all the pictures of treats from Bacio look awesome but since you have actually sampled them, which would you suggest as "not to be missed"?

German chocolate cake, all the cookies, the lemon tarts and the raspberry cream cake. The best thing is that if you don't like your first choice, there's no cost to try something different.

dinner was again in the dining room and are starters were:

Salad with grapes, walnuts and apple (or maybe pear)

33621589856_f2425fa19b_c.jpg

And the waldorf salad (I love this - though the server added far too much dressing before I was able to say stop)

33621588256_042596316b_c.jpg

My mother had the stuffed chicken for her entrée. This was very good - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and just loaded with cheesy goodness

33278586100_fcf09c74ca_c.jpg

I ordered the port tenderloin with red cabbage.

32849292513_7fc538a0cd_c.jpg

And my dad had both his normal steak and the slow roasted pot roast (good but not as good as the beef cheeks the night before).

For dessert we headed over to café bacio where my dad had 2 slices of the raspberry crème cake

33278578550_08366cd141_c.jpg

My mom had 1 piece of the cake

32849286773_9e783ed2d1_c.jpg

And we tried one of the mini chocolate mousse which is like a really thick, rich icing cream.

33278574890_c8eee0273d_c.jpg

I had a piece of blueberry cheesecake and a couple of Dulce de louce éclairs (these were phenomenal and this was the only time we saw them there)

lunch the next day was in the buffet. It was a mixed bag of good and not so good.

My mother had a lettuce-less salad (veggies, cheese and dressing)

33278570990_7820403efe_c.jpg

And she also had some red beans and rice, ham, and lamb

32849281413_e77324244a_c.jpg

I started with some orzo salad, cheese and a crusty bun - I ended up making the bun and cheese into a nice cheese sandwich.

33621563946_aaa3d563e5_c.jpg

I also tried some fried chicken (way over done), lamb curry (it was bitter and grisly), and mashed potatoes.

32849279373_0817f2a4b7_c.jpg

My dad had some mac n cheese and vegetables (peas and carrots)

33621526756_d5a4f527f1_c.jpg

And then some mashed potatoes and slow cooked meat

Dinner tonight missed the mark - each item should have been great based on the description - they just didn't live up to our expectations.

Spinach and artichoke dip - it was basically chunks of artichoke, surrounded by spinach - there really wasn't any "dip".

33278559040_166d01e89b_c.jpg

My dad tried the shrimp and scallop cerviche - I think they just put a shrimp and a scallop in a glass and squeezed some lime on it.

33533047321_ae673443c5_c.jpg

My mom had some kind of soup

33278555870_d4d116375f_c.jpg

For entrees -

I had a pasta with seafood and tomato juice - err, sauce. the pasta was over cooked. I ate the seafood pieces and left the rest. My dad likes mushy pasta so he had a bit of mine.

33533045381_fa7d31b062_c.jpg

My mom had the roasted chicken in mushroom sauce. It was okay and the best of the 3 entrees but was lacking anything to make this stand out.

33621550256_56bcaf754a_c.jpg

My dad had bbq brisket with beans and a corn muffin. My dad doesn't meet many cows he doesn't like but this was one of the few that died in vane.

33533043661_063ab11363_c.jpg

We skipped dessert and headed to the café again.

So the last 2 days were days at sea which meant lunch in the dining room (yay).

My dad ordered a "regular" salad - lettuce, tomato and cucumber.

33621546696_b5e02f74f6_c.jpg

My mom ordered the whole wheat pasta with vegetables for lunch. She wanted something a little lighter and this fit the bill for her.

33533041901_21e1aea4d9_c.jpg

My dad and I both had the ribs - these were very tasty and the fries were actually hot. The coleslaw was also good.

32849266043_52c76f2bcb_c.jpg

My dad and I both had the brownie sundae for dessert (this was fantastic)

33533040261_4118cb370e_c.jpg

While my mom had the rhubarb tart

Thank you so much for doing this. I'll be on the Summit in two weeks and this is really helpful!!

FYI for others, you can order a steamed vegetable platter to go with your entree. I find the veggies really lacking in many of the dishes. I tell the waiter on the first night that I would like steamed veggies every night, no matter what I order. It's always enough to share with the table.

We didn't eat dinner in the dining room on the second to last night. I hurt my knee and we decided to just order room service - basically just repeats of what we'd ordered before. It was all very good and I really enjoyed the options. We had also asked our room steward for the dining room menu but there was nothing there that we were intent on ordering.

Okay - last sea day coming up!

Lunch was again in the dining room (repeated menu from day 1).

We had the cheese sticks and a salad for appetizers

33505780372_8bc4bcdc06_c.jpg

33533036171_06d1e3e206_c.jpg

And my dad and I both had a steak for lunch (I guess he missed his from the dining room last night).

33662610475_4771590f1b_c.jpg

My mom had a hamburger

33533034251_48769ed6df_c.jpg

And then for dessert we had the key lime pie and a strawberry cream cake

We had some time to kill before debarking and decided to head to the dining room for our first Celebrity breakfast of the cruise (other than from Bacio).

Sliced melon

33533166061_60f7ae5a0a_c.jpg

And the fruit plate (surprising similar to the sliced melon)

33533164361_62ba3f5974_c.jpg

Waffles:

33505888342_19d13847e8_c.jpg

Cottage cheese

32849372303_f705ebfcfb_c.jpg

And an Omelet

33533158971_cf70f39c5e_c.jpg

And that's all of our dining! I hope that this helps someone decide on what to order or to help someone be adventurous and branch out and try something they wouldn't.

Happy eating everyone!

Just learning about prosciutto. Wondering if it was the cooked (cotto) or raw (crudo) in the salad. Thanks! And thank you for taking the time to share all of these pics. We are about to go on a TA to Rome.
