lucyjohnz Posted November 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2005 I recently heard they are playing Texas Hold 'em in the Conquest casino. My question is: what kind of "game" is it? Was it a table full of 10 players who play against each other with limits/no-limit? Or, was it a new table game like 3-card-poker where you actually somehow play against the dealer/house instead? In other words, is it like a poker table you find in poker rooms or a new kind of table game? If it's a new kind of table game, how is it played - each player plays their hand against the dealer's hand? If it's a poker-room type of game, what are the limits? Is it a no-limit table or not? hole_fan Posted November 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2005 It will probably be played the same as it was on the Imagination: There is a dealer and up to 10 players. You are not playing against the dealer, only the other people at the table. The minimum buy-in is $30. The blinds are $1 and $3, and to raise, you have to double the current ante (i.e. raise to $6, $12, etc). You cannot go "all-in" unless you are at the current ante. You are given 2 cards and there are 5 community cards. Whoever has the best hand wins. Hope this helps!

US 30 Posted November 23, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 23, 2005 Hi, just answered your question in another thread, but to clarify, the Conquest's poker table was more expensive than what hole_fan found on the Imagination. Blinds were $2 and $5, and bets were $5 and $10. Maybe the higher cost is due to supply and demand -- more passengers, but the same 10 poker seats. Three Card Poker, where players compare their hands against the dealer, is also offered on the Conquest, at a separate table.

Texas_Diver Posted January 1, 2006 #11 Share Posted January 1, 2006 Hey, I am just off the Conquest. Yes, they have poker. It is limit. The blinds are $2 and $5. It was a 10 seat table I believe. It was a blast!!!!

Deb&Bert Posted January 2, 2006 #16 Share Posted January 2, 2006 We have a group of 42 going on the Glory 1/28/06 We bring our OWN chips and play texas holdem.. OURSELVES.. We played on 2 other cruises... We have a buy in of 10.00 pp and no money on the table.. NO PROBLEM at all.. We usually play at the back of the lido deck. Or up by the second story of the lido food.. We have a Carnival Secuity cope stand by on of the doors the whole week we were playing and never had a problem.. Some times we have 30 people play.. People would walk up and ask if they could catch the next game.. We said sure the more the merry.... We played 3 games though out the day... WE LOVED IT!!!!!! We saved money not being in the Casino and we gave it really to one of our own group members...
Jedidad Posted January 3, 2006 #17 Share Posted January 3, 2006 On the Fantasy they had one Hold 'em table and it was full the entire time it was open. I saw the same guys sitting there for hours every day. Limits too high for me, though. I'm a .10/.20 player LOL! BTW, the table on the Fantasy wasn't in the casino. It was on the same deck but aft next to "The Forum".
