stevefrisco Posted April 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2017 Hello all, I tried to do a search on here and on CCL's website but couldn't find the information I am looking for so figured I'd start a thread. Anyways, we have four in a balcony on the Pride. One passenger found a job that requires training the week we are gone. Would it be possible to cancel him and add another passenger (we have one ready) without racking up a bunch of extra fees? Thanks in advance for your help! skcrn Posted April 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2017 We just looked into that. If you cancel you loose the money by a percentage depending how long before you cruise and another person coming to the room still has to pay full amounf Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you happen to be booked under a fare that allows name changes it would have probably only cost $50.

isaiahsnana Posted April 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2017 Call Carnival, you may be able to change the name for only $50 or less depending on which way you booked the cruise - early saver has a built in set of rules about changes. But give carnival a call to see what they can do for you!
Sizzlechest Posted April 20, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 20, 2017 I wonder what would happen if you meant to have the third person be a different person all along and someone simply made a mistaken when booking it originally?
stevefrisco Posted April 20, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted April 20, 2017 Cool thanks everyone I really appreciate all of your answers and input. We booked under a casino rate, I know a few years back that we added people to the room 2 weeks out without a problem but there was no changing anything around. No go. You can change a pax up to morning of sailing. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

AnitaVacation Posted April 20, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 20, 2017 I've never tried to change a passenger on Carnival....but from what I've read here on online, they can make it difficult....basically cancelling your original reservation and booking a new one....which would be at the current price? I'm not sure why they do this....or how strict they are on this policy....perhaps to discourage this practice... NCL lets you change passengers right up to 3 days before sailing as long as one of the original primary passengers stays the same...
forb0054 Posted April 20, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 20, 2017 I had this happen last year. I had to pay a $250.00 cancellation fee to cancel one passenger and add a new passenger. I did book on early saver. They did send me a $200.00 Carnival Credit for my next cruise which I had two years to use. So it ended up being a $50.00 charge.
