Government shut down possible Friday night

We are due to depart Saturday Afternoon on an transatlantic cruse on the Rhapsody. If no compromise and the government closes,what effect would there possibly be with departures?

I wouldn't be too concerned. They'll just have non-essential people told not to come to work. It will only be a partial shutdown. Customs and Immigration folks will still be required to come to work, especially with those disembarking the morning of the 29th.

What federal government services would you need? There is no customs at embarkation. If you're flying TSA lines may be longer but that's all I can think of.

Customs would be my consern as the prior cruise would be required to go through customs and could mess up next group boarding.We are flying in before so air is no problem.

Way it's happened in past while I worked for the Gov't is only things like Museums, lower priority services close. Security will be the same...

Essentials employees, for example, U.S. Customs, Border Patrol, TSA and etc will still be doing their current duties if the government does shutdown. They will basically be working for free until the government opens back up.
