rgg Posted April 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I was on the Summit last summer with my daughter. She was 6 at the time and had a blast at at the kids club. There were lots of kids on board.
2theship Posted April 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2017 The summer cruises to Bermuda are very popular with families. There will be plenty of kids and plenty of activities for them.
Auburn1998 Posted April 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2017 We are about to do 3rd cruise on summit with 7 year old. Especially if Captain Kate is on board, she makes time to talk to all the kids! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
rgg Posted April 29, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2017 We were on board with Captain Alex last summer. He has a young daughter, who was on board. He totally charmed my daughter and always remembered her name. Also, all the waiters in the dining room doted on her. Many of the crew are away from their own children, and are happy to engage with little ones.
coolcruiser777 Posted April 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2017 According to my kids, the kids club on the Summit was "pure torture". They forced my kids to go outside and play during a rainstorm just because "it was a scheduled activity". I can't believe they did that and I had no idea because they didn't let them communicate with me until I picked them up. That was our last ever experience with a kids club. champagne123 Posted April 29, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2017 I cannot speak for the activities they have for children.....but on our Summit cruise, I do not even recollect one child being on board. I can see where they would be bored to death.
andrew2346 Posted April 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2017 For those ages in my opinion you will be fine. For teenagers do RCCL. Anthem, Oasis, Freedom, Allure etc.
coolcruiser777 Posted April 29, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 29, 2017 There is usually a ton of children on in the Summer. The best kids club experiences my kids have had have actually been when there are few children on the ship (longer cruises/winter cruises). They can choose what they want to to instead of being confined to a schedule, they can actually form relationships with the managers there, and they can form better friendships with the other children. If not, they just cram 200 or so kids in a room and put a movie on that every kid has seen at least 100 times. Or, they let them run around like crazy outside (rain or shine).
