can you gamble with cash at all???

They get ya on the booze with 15 %, as well as your gambling money at 3%...

That is ridiculous.

I'd like to know that same thing. I like blackjack too. The way I understand it is everytime you use your sail and sign card they tack on that 3% charge. So I guess if you're going to gamble, take out enough the first time around so you don't keep getting socked. I'll bet you won't be able to pay cash at the table....how would they collect that 3%? (I'm bringing a small bottle of rum, a bottle of wine AND my own corkscrew, I just want to sip on some wine as I sit on the balcony feeling like a wealthy person-HAHHAHAHA!)

It is so good to have someone answer all of these questions! They are just the one's I have about the gambling - dh loves to play blackjack....

Steph - make sure you come back and write a review! We are going on our first cruise also on the Triumph in May and so am trying to learn everything I can before we leave.

Thanks everyone for answering all of the ??????????:)

Sure thing! I'll write a review. Maybe if I have time I'll just post my website that I made a couple years ago and it's just sitting around since I didn't know what to do with it. I'll even put pictures in there. The staterooms they have on their site are all the same. I'd like to know what it really looks like! (I love playing critic)

I also had a question about the sail and sign card. A friend and I will be sailing in August. Can we each bill our S&S cards to our own credit cards? or does it have to be one credit card per cabin? And did I read right that the $30 for tips is tacked on as soon as you arrive? Also has anyone used carnivals transfer service from orlando airport to port canaveral? How did you pay for that? at time of booking or once you arrive at the airport? Thanks and sorry for so many questions

This is what I know about the sail n sign....Each person will get their own. You can use cash, credit card or debit cards (but that may freeze your bank account). I'm using traveler's checks for the sail n sign. Yes, they tack on tips. I'm going on a 7 day cruise, so for me, thats $70 bucks right off the top. (Sneak your own bottle aboard, I am and my g/f does it all the time) When you use your sail n sign card, 15% is added toward whatever your buying at the bar. Sorry, I don't know about the transfers. I think you can pay at the counter at the airport or when you book the cruise.

Hope this helps a little bit for ya.

From what I found out from my friends who cruised before, no money changes hands anywhere. It's all taken from your sail n sign card.

You're right, it is ridiculous. I feel they nickle and dime you to death with all that gratuity stuff. I'd like to have a choice who I want to tip and how much. But the added money in the beginning when you first get your card gets split amongst so many people. And if you think about it, these people probably don't get much in the way of wages anyway. There are a lot of cheap people who will even stiff them if they can. Thats not right either. So...I guess this is the way it is when you cruise which I think is still cheaper than if you fly and stay in a hotel somewhere.

Actually-you can gamble with cash in the casino. :D All the slots take bills. We used cash every time at the tables, and then our S&S if we wanted to stay past our anticipated limits. It is one of the only places they will actually take your cash onboard. :)
