Any Lalique collectors around?

Hi all -

My friend and I will be on the Golden in July for the Classic southern itinerary. We're both Lalique crystal freaks. Has anyone seen any bargains? Wondered if the French side of St. Martin might be a good place. Prices used to be pretty good in St. Thomas, but I haven't been there in several years.

I'll appreciate any guidance. Thanks, D.

I was on the French side of St. Martin about 15 months ago. There is a Little Switzerland store, but it was smaller than the one on the Dutch side. Two months ago, in St. Thomas, we saw Lalique at both Little Switzerland and The Crystal Shoppe. In Old San Juan you can check Bared & Sons. It seems like the prices are set/fixed for most collectibles (Daum, LLadro, Hummel, Lalique, etc) in the Caribbean. I think Costco offers the best prices, although they don't have a huge selection. Happy shopping!!!

Thanks both of you. We'll check those stores out. For anyone interested, the best prices on Lalique in the past few years have been on ebay - though even those are not as wonderful as they once were. Lalique brought out a new collection of cats and kittens in 2002 that I seriously covet, but they've only shown up on ebay as a collection of all five of them - more money than I can afford, even at ebay's prices.

Thanks again, Donia
