What if we don't want to go on excursions?

Once we get off the ship is there a lot to do without taking a cab. How far in OSJ? This is my first cruise, and we don't want much of a schedule. We sort of want to come and go as we please since it's our honeymoon. :)

Are you making a port call or does your cruise start/stop there/

 

If your ship stops in Old San Juan, you could stroll the streets and stop at Markets or the casinos. There are historic forts and some very nice views, also.

This is one of the four places we're visiting on our cruise. We actally depart from Miami, Florida.

You can just get off the ship and walk around Old San Juan. It is a lovely city and you could also take a carriage ride, which would be very romantic:)

Are you docking in OSJ or at one of the other Piers? If your in OSJ it's very easy to get off the ship and walk around w/o any pressure of excursions and plus OSJ is very laid back so it's nice to just walk around. Barrachina Restaurant supposedly is where the Pina Colada was originated and it's a really wonderful place. You can take the free trolley around all of OSJ and get off where you see something of interest.

If your at one of the piers you'll have to take a taxi or just stay on the ship and relax.
