Questions about Empress of the Seas cabins

We have booked a ocean view cat. F room and wonder if it has a safe & hair dryer. We also wonder if they will bring a egg shell mattress cover if asked. Can anyone help me? we are going Jan 2 2006 for the 11 day cruise from San Juan. Any other advice about this ship and cruise would be greatly appreciated.

Hairdryer yes, safe- probably not. Last time I was on the Empress the JS's and higher were the only cabins with safes.

 

As for the mattress. The Empress received new mattresses in Dec. 2003 before she was drydocked and renamed. My cabin got a new mattress on the 2nd day of the cruise and it was quite nice. If you feel the need for an egg crate they should be able to provide one for you without much trouble.

They may have safes in all of the outside cabins by now. last Christmasthey had all suites and I believ about half of the outside rooms on decks 7 and 8 and were adding more each week during the turnarounds.
