Tipping And Onboard Account

Recommended Posts

We were on the Voyager for a 5 day cruise to Bermuda two weeks ago. We left on a Sunday. On Tuesday night when they left us the Nightly Compass, there was a form in there to fill out if you wanted to add the tips to your SeaPass Account. It had to be filled out and turned into the Guest Relations desk by Wendesday Night. They had a special box on the counter at Guest Relations that you just dropped it in the box. It was then added to our Sea Pass account. When the envelopes came for the Room Steward, Waiter, Assistant Waiter and Head Waiter on the last night, there were individually printed vouchers with their title that you were given also to put into the envelopes showing that you had your tips done this way.

Yes, if you add the tips to your account. You tip so much per passenger not per individual worker.

I can't for the life of me remember what the recommended tip is for everyone (cabin steward, waiter, assistant waiter, etc...). Can someone help me with this??

From the "Onboard Extras" section of the RCCL website:

What are gratuity guidelines for cruises?

So that you can thank those who have made your cruise vacation better than you could have imagined, we've developed these gratuity guidelines:

Suite attendant: $5.75 USD a day per guest

Stateroom attendant: $3.50 USD a day per guest

Dining Room Waiter: $3.50 USD a day per guest

Assistant Waiter: $2.00 USD a day per guest

Headwaiter: $.75 USD a day per guest

Note: These gratuities apply to guests of all ages.

Gratuities for other service personnel are at your discretion. A 15% gratuity will automatically be added to your bar bill or wine check when you are served.

Envelopes for gratuities will be provided in your stateroom on the last night of the cruise. Gratuities may be paid in the following ways:

Pre paid by having them added to your reservation by your booking agent.

Added to your onboard SeaPass account.

Paid in cash at the end of the cruise

So, if you're not in a suite the total is $9.75/person/day.

Some of the ships let you add the tips up until almost the final evening, but some cut it off a couple of days ahead so be sure to check the paper work or the Compass for the deasdline.

Spingtxbill, where do ya'll live in Spring? Looks like you keep busy cruising. We have cruised a 10 day on Splendour and loved her as much as Rhapsody. Hope you enjoy your cruise neighbor!
