kprestidge07 Posted May 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2017 Does anyone have any feedback? We're crushing to Freeport & Nassau in July and none of the carnival excursions in Freeport interest me. We're thinking about getting a day pass to this resort. Is it hard to get a taxi back to the port? Is the snorkeling expensive to purchase? HawkIVette Posted May 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2017 I do not have any info for you, but you might look or post your question on this page. It is the Ports of Call page of Cruise Critic just for The Bahamas. --------> http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
raknsak2 Posted May 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2017 We went a few years ago to Grand Lucayan and loved it. About a 15 or 20 minute taxi ride each way. Make sure you go back early as they wait to fill up the taxi/vans before they leave so it can be a while. Also, check if it has air conditioning before you get in. Seago2 Posted May 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2017 It's a great day pass. Lazy river, nice beach, wifi. All in all very relaxing at a reasonable price. Don't know about snorkeling.
Mysticks1 Posted May 29, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2017 We did it three years ago on the Dream - it was a very nice resort with a nice pool and beach area. There is a market area across the street that you can walk to . I agree with giving yourself plenty of time for the return and for making sure the van has A/C. They will pack you on very tightly and it is about a 15 minute or so drive.
watermelonqueen99 Posted May 30, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 30, 2017 It's ok. Beautiful beach. It's located right across from the Grand Lucayan Marketplace where there are shops and restaurants. kprestidge07 Posted May 30, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted May 30, 2017 Thanks y'all! I don't know if it's worth checking out or not. Is there anything else to do around there? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
goldenret Posted June 5, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 5, 2017 I went to Lighthouse Pointe at Grand Lucayan last week during my cruise. Just as a tip, the actual Grand Lucayan Resort is closed, they will tell you that when you are trying to get a taxi. However, Lighthouse Pointe is open and is on the same property as the resort. My boyfriend and I went and really enjoyed it. There is a large swimming pool, a whirlpool, a lap pool, and of course the beach area. There are people also at the beach area selling water sport activities, if that's something you would be interested in.

dayzfan4life Posted July 19, 2017 #17 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Have any of you that went there recently bought food/drinks at the resort? Just wondering about quality and pricing. We are going in September and wondered if we should just walk outside the resort for lunch....... Thoughts?
