Has anyone been to this? Looking to visit the institute in september. Is the blue train tour worth doing? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Are you asking about the Celebrity excursion that does this. I read the description of the excursion and I was surprised that it had a 2 hour duration. You're going to do a scenic train ride. visit BUEI, and have incredible shopping opportunities. all in 2 hours, WOW!!

 

This is a DIY excursion. I think you could spend 2 hours just at BUEI. There is a walking tour that you could tailor to your own interests. Also, there is a free walking tour of Hamilton with the Hamilton Town Crier as guide. There is shopping on Front St or the Washington Mall on Queen St.

 

This is something you can do on your own when it is convenient for you. You can stop and smell the roses if you want.

The Blue Train can be booked independent of Celebrity. How much is Celebrity charging? It is $39 booked independent and that includes the admission to BUEI.

 

Never done it and never will, so I don't know if it is worth it. Might be worth it for someone with mobility issues.

My guess is that they are not planning on booking thru Celebrity who are charging $74 while the Blue Train is charging $39 direct booking, because Celebrity does not mention that it is the Blue Train in their description. I looked it up this morning. Also while this might not seem like a good excursion to most of us some might have mobility problems or are taking small children who would like that Blue train.
