JKrise Posted June 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2017 Hi All, DW and I havre noticed on RCL we get many on-board loyalty (Diamond level) discounts not listed on the RCL web site. Just wondering does CCL offer their Platinum Level guests on board discounts not listed on the VIFP web site? Been awhile since we were on a CCL cruise. CharlesKru Posted June 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2017 nothing extra... and in fact they basically took away any benefit from booking on board. It went from a sliding scale of OBC based on length of future sailing, to flat $50.. has to be ES and you can not change it at all or you lose the $50. I have also heard people say when they price match as ES they still lose the $50... completely worthless. I hate to say it, but had I not been a cruiser during the days of Future Cruise Certificates, I would never have gotten to over 150 days with Carnival. They used to offer alot to get you to come back again..
JKrise Posted June 14, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted June 14, 2017 On Granduer of the seas now. We are getting free wifi for a day ($12.99), a 8x10 photo free, 3 free drinks each night, alsorts of other on board discounts. Carnival doesn't offer similar discounts? Genuine question, not a setup question.

I had been using the FCC for a long time but our last cruise was on Princess for the Alaska packages they offer so we didn't have a Carnival cruise booked. We got really good VIFP and Casino offers in between that we didn't get when we always had a cruise booked. Some were better than the FCC $100 OBC offer. There are some benefits for Carnival Diamonds that we do appreciate.:D

The VIFP and Casino offers are different from booking on the ship. You 'paid' for the casino offer (win or lose in gambling), the old day VIFP offers were better, but not in last 3 or 4 years. Booking on the ship has just really became a bad joke... but if it helps someone then good for them. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Frank12 Posted June 15, 2017 #11 Share Posted June 15, 2017 Big fat nothing extra from CCL. Some cruises you are lucky to get the advertised benefits.
JKrise Posted June 15, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted June 15, 2017 Roger that. Zero extra on board discounts/extras. Guess that's why they are priced at a lower entry point.
