Carnival is much more "single" friendly (go figure :) ) as well as Holland America (or so I've heard, never been on HAL). They have much lower single supplements. When I was looking at a Southern Carib I was stunned...It would cost me almost $900 less to do the Carnival Destiny solo compared to AOS. Another thing that annoys me is RCI will not let singles book guarantees while Carnival will. On a short cruise like my last one it is not such a big difference but for my next week or longer cruise, I really don't want to pay RCI's premium. I don't mind paying 150% and maybe even 200% sometimes, but 200% AND locking me out of the cheapest fare cats is a bit much IMHO. Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine now that I'm a solo cruiser, I would prefer to stick with RCI but for the $$ I just can't justify it.
