Blondie0428 Posted June 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2017 I recently received a couple Visa gift cards. Anyone know if I can use these towards my sign and sail account purchases? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

If you used them to buy some cruise cash, you should be able to.
cruise_everywhere Posted June 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2017 Buy gift cards and take them with you - or just like already stated buy cruise cash straight from Carnival.
maryred Posted June 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2017 One of the problems with non-Carnival gift or prepaid credit cards is the cruise line will place a hold against the account which takes up to 10 business days to drop off. This cuts into the card's available balance, until the hold is released by the credit card company (Carnival sends it's 1/2 of the release upon final billing). Another problem with prepaid and gift cards is right in their own TOU. Some don't allow for open ended spending accounts like the cruise line (and some hotels that allow room charges) uses. While a few others don't allow for travel expenses beyond gas purchases (they will deny charges from car rentals, bus/train/airline tickets, and hotel/motel/B-n-B stays). Your best bet to get the full value from the card(s) is to use them prior to boarding to buy cruise cash through the online FunShops. General and bar (beverage) cruise cash is sold in increments of $25, and photo cruise cash is sold in increments of $10. General cruise cash can be used for any on board purchases, while bar cc is limited to purchases from the beverage department including towards packages like Bottomless Bubbles or Cheers, and photo cc is only for items purchased in the gallery. If the gift cards total up to $100 you might try local stores to buy a Carnival specific gift card which can be used on board. In my area most stores will not allow the use of prepaid or gift cards to buy other gift cards, so you might be hard pressed to find a retailer that will accept them.
