Zakky24 Posted June 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 22, 2017 My daughter will be 8yrs and 9months when we sail - looking at these lists I think the Ensigns would be more suitable (9-11yrs)... Is this possible or is it strictly age based?

Is this possible or is it strictly age based? I have heard they are pretty strict on the ages, but I'm sure it depends on the staff on board. Sent from my iPhone using Forums One thing to be aware of is that ensigns age 9 plus are allowed to sign themselves out . ( trust me they go to the cafe and that's about it !) So you may find that your eight year old later in the evening will be alone in that area as everyone else will be chugging soda and eating ice cream in the cafe. I know this as last year we originally didn't allow my ten year old to sign herself out , until we discovered her alone one eve looking very sad . We changed the permissions giving her strict instructions that it was the Oceanview or nothing . She's a good girl and didn't abuse that . Zakky24 Posted June 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 23, 2017 Great advice - thanks. Daughter is sensible, but could be easily led by older kids... one to ponder!
aquanaut1 Posted June 23, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 23, 2017 Great advice - thanks. Daughter is sensible, but could be easily led by older kids... one to ponder! We really laid down the law .... no cabins , no pool , no games room ( locked her seapass just in case ) She was a star ! And felt so important being allowed to go the cafe !!! Never abused it Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
