MBNA Onboard Credits ---Cash back?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am prettyy sure I understand the redemption process for the on board credits thru MBNA....Once on the ship my questions are:

1.) If you have a an onboard credit and dont spend the whole credit do you get cash back?

2.) Anyway you could use the credit to pay for tipping etc...?

3.) One post said you can get the credit amt. put on your Sea pass card...havent cruised in awhile..what is a Sea pass card?

Any input is appreciated. Thank you, Deb :)

I'll answer what I can.

1. I would think so, but I would ask RCCL this one to make sure; it seems to me that if somebody credits your onboard account and you don't use it, RCCL will refund it--they don't care who put the credit there... but I'm only guessing on this one.

2. You should definitely be able to as tipping is charged to your onboard account unless you tell them otherwise.

3. Your Sea Pass card is your identification to get on and off the ship as well as your charge card for your onboard account (for drinks, photos, shopping in the shops, etc.) while you are on board.

To get cash back: Apply your credit to your seapass through your points voucher, charge your tips, drinks and what ever you like, watch your seapass balance then the day before you depart if you have not used up your credit then go to the casino and ask for cash. There is no charge for cash in the casino and your request will be charged to your seapass thus giving you close to a zero balance.

You have sent in the certificate to Royal Caribbean requesting the shipboard credit right? If so you might just call sometime and confirm they have been applied to your account just for peace of mind. Once your on board the second or third day the credit will appear on the account. Yes you must charge everything, only thing cash is accepted for is tips. Who is going to turn down cash :D You can do like I said and fill out a form at the pursers desk to have tips added to your seapass account. You can check your balance of your seapass on your TV at any time. Have a great time!
