Rare HeinBloed Posted June 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2017 After ten years back with Costa. The COSTA FAVOLOSA-Blog begins. As usual the blog starts with the voyage to the ship: by train from Mannheim, Germany via Lyon, France to Marseille, France. The first impression in Lyon showed: a good idea to stop here. The break here should be longer. In Marseille: did we get the best room in the city? Thanks to Chiraz of Inter-Continental Hotel Dieu Marseille. On the roots of my favorite scene from the movie "Love...actually": the proposal in Portuguese language. http://heinbloed-minis.blogspot.ch/2017/04/tagday-0-vor-derbefore-costa-favolosa.html http://heinbloed-minis.blogspot.ch/2017/04/tagday-1-on-costa-favolosa-in-marseille.html The morning started. Went out for Shipspotting: my favorite taxi driver Chantal was in India and saw Taj Mahal. But not with sending me a nice collegue Jean-Marc who called at 06.00 hrs another shipspotter friend to find out the best place to take pictures of the ship. Finally on onboard of COSTA FAVOLOSA. No alternative but that sailing out of Marseille on Good Friday. For one night a great cabin stewardess: Princess (why working with Costa?). She quit just after one night to start with her well-deserved vacation - not without supplying us with some duvet (Italian style: wool blankets plus linen / sandwich-arrangements and we hate them). A great team and a great dinner in the Samsara Restaurant: Lucas, Amar, Sanket, Jose, Rina, Vikas and Syed. Coming back with my blog from Savona, Italy. Regards HeinBloed N.B. This is an European experience. Costa in the Caribbean out of Florida might be a different experience since it is more Americanized.
Rare HeinBloed Posted June 25, 2017 Author #2 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Day 2 of the COSTA FAVOLOSA Blog: Savona, Italy - Homebase of Costa - Three ships in town for passenger turnaround: COSTA FAVOLOSA, COSTA DIADEMA, COSTA MEDITERRANEA. Estimated 12,000 - 15,000 guests (so you had the embarking and the embarking who were overlapping). No fun to be ashore. It was fun to see the policeman. 1,000 Tupperware-Ladies (we had a larger group onboard) occupied the city with a scavenger hunt. That was why you even cannot get any service in restaurants. Back on board it become real funny: try to order an ice coffee cup. The show: one size fits all. The dinner: a lot of space for improvements. Heading to Barcelona, Spain, where the blog continues. http://heinbloed-minis.blogspot.ch/2017/04/tagday-2-auf-deron-costa-favolosa-in.html Regards HeinBloed
Rare HeinBloed Posted June 25, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Luck and unluck are really close together. Day 3 of the COSTA FAVOLOSA Blog in Barcelona, Spain: Luck because we luckily only had a half day at sea. Longer and I would need a therapy and an ENT-specialist. Unluck because we were unlucky with the half day at sea and only stayed five hours in a great city like Barcelony. Our favorite taxi driver Eva was not allowed to take us around. That was unluck. So Beny jumped in. She thought that we might be first time in Barcelona and that was our luck. We really had luck with the weather so we could do again a port cruise: MAJESTIC PRINCESS, VIKING SKY and VIKING SEA. Unluck we learned too late that a great crew-member was onboard of VIKING SEA: Cheryll. We had luck again with a waitress we met in the Salon Molière bar who was willing to walk an extra mile. Unluck because we did not note her name and the next day the bar was closed for the public. http://heinbloed-minis.blogspot.de/2017/04/tagday-3-auf-deron-costa-favolosa-in.html The blog continues with day 4 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Rare HeinBloed Posted June 25, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Day 4 of my COSTA FAVOLOSA Blog in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The day started like in a dream: a beautiful arrival. MSC FANTASIA was overnight here. And COSTA MEDITERRANEA arrived for that kind of scenery too late. A part of the team in the Club-Restaurant: Moris, Allan, Wilmer, Maître Monica, Ian Gillan, Juan and Luis. It was nice to have them. Segway-Tour with Dani of Segway Palma instead of our prefered private tourguides: but on this island everything was double expensive as on the Spanish mainland. Our super-cabin steward Dennis. A true Superman in the cabin!!! A super show in the night: pure Italian Dolce Vita!!! Tomorrow only the debarkation supposed to follow: but that turns everything good to bad. Stay tuned for the next part back in Marseille, France. http://heinbloed-minis.blogspot.de/2017/04/tagday-4-auf-deron-costa-favolosa-in.html
Rare HeinBloed Posted June 25, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Finally off the ship on Day 5 in my COSTA FAVOLOSA-Blog: back in Marseille, France. For me the front desk was a bunch of lazy liars! For that statement I had really good reasons: not willing to grap the phone and doing some researchs. Just not willing to say: I do not know it better. My final conclusion and review started with "prefer to freeze you butt or COSTA FAVOLOSA" Find yourself out why I should go Costa or why I should not. The next blog of the minis will start in Fall 2018: BRITANNIA. The next blog will be with Norwegian after Pentecost 2017: NORWEGIAN JADE. http://heinbloed-minis.blogspot.de/2017/04/tagday-5-auf-deron-costa-favolosa-in.html See you next time.
