CoJo Posted July 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2017 Booked on August 12 Veendam. Driving from Ohio and having trouble arranging the 14 day parking needed. Understand problems due to construction at port. Any ideas? Called HAL and travel agent but both no help at this time. Appreciate your suggestions. Jolie_Cruiser Posted July 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2017 Here are two links that I found thru google.ca https://cruiseportadvisor.com/port/montreal-qc-port-of-montreal/parking/ http://www.parkingattheport.com/montreal-cruise-terminal/ Thank you for the links but the first one is not up to date. It is better to use the Port of Montréal website which is up to date: http://www.port-montreal.com/en/access-to-berths.html
Kamloops50 Posted July 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2017 Most major Canadian cities have rush hours that start in the early morning (5am) and end in the evening (7pm). Traffic does easy up around noon for a few hours. Sent from my iPad using Forums
BBsailor Posted July 18, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Driving from Michigan and am finding the same problems. Called thre port and they said they have no parking at either the new or old facility due to the construction and referred me to Bonaventure indoor parking and then taking a cab to the port. CoJo Posted July 18, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Hello, We are in northern Ohio. After much investigation we have decided to park at the Place Bonaventure facility. They do not take reservations but have assured us there will be a space. The rate is $24.00 a day. And then we will have to get a taxi to the pier. Hoping it all works out. Kamloops50 Posted July 18, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2017 You could look at a long stay parking lot near the Montreal airport.
Isles of Shoals Posted July 22, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 22, 2017 One Stop Parking, at the EconoLodge near Trudeau Airport, isn't exactly close to the port. And it's not pretty. But it's cheap. We will use it again soon. https://onestopparking.com/Econo_Lodge_Montreal_Hotel_-YUL_100306
Jolie_Cruiser Posted July 25, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Thank you for your suggestion about the Econolodge. I have parked before in an other hotel parking lot on Côte-de-Liesse. My car was still there when I got back from the airport. However, the model I drive is not a hot pick for thieves. Montréal is not rampant with car thieves. On the other hand, the unfenced hotel parking lots on Côte-de-Liesse have a reputation for car thefts. This is especially true for luxury SUVs-pick-up trucks, Honda Civics and Toyota Corollas. For people who wish to park near the airport, booking a park/stay/fly is an idea. I personally try to avoid airport hotels but a few of these have good reviews (not the Econolodge). I would make sure the parking is fenced and well lit. There are also such parkings affiliated with the airport (without the stay). More info.: http://www.admtl.com/en/access/parking Cost of taxi from the airport is 80 CAD return plus tip. From Dorval, Pointe-Claire etc. where airport hotels are situated the cost is approximately 100 CAD return plus tip. The Port of Montreal website was just updated. Unfortunately, the parking right beside the terminal will not be available this year. Also, small changes were made on the cruise schedule. Jolie_Cruiser Posted July 26, 2017 #11 Share Posted July 26, 2017 For those sailing out of the T-3 or T-4 terminal (this includes the Maasdam on August 5th) good news for parking. The Port Authority has confirmed to me that long term parking will be available there for cruisers on these sailings.
