taxi in St Thomas

I don't know the "best" way to get there but what we did was walk off the ship and there was a "dispatcher" sort of guy there. We told him we wanted to go to Saphire beach and he directed us to a van. As soon as we had a full van, we took off. I can't remember what it cost but it wasn't very expensive. There were also people being directed to other vans depending on the beach they wanted to go to.

If you keep walking an extra block to where the rental car places are, you can find taxis there and waiting as well. The taxis there are a little less expensive and very well educated. I wish I could remember the name of the taxi driver we had last year. He was excellent. There were 10 of us in his van and for the whole day it was around $100. He knew the island and gave us a better tour than we could have ever asked for. We wanted to go to specific places (including the synogogue and Mountain Top) and then he also took us to sites he felt were important to visit. Good luck and enjoy your trip!
