Amtrak to Fort Lauderdale, couple of questions

Can anyone give me some information about the Fort Lauderdale Amtrak station. We are taking the train from Lakeland to Fort Lauderdale, arriving around 5:30 pm. Will there be cabs there or will we need to call for one? Is there a building there where you can wait for your train? We are returning and the train back leaves at 12:30pm. We do self assist debarkation so if we go to the train station, will there be a place for us to wait? Any info you can provide would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance

If there isn't any cabs, highly suggest the uber app. Plenty of cabs in downtown Ft Lauderdale. There is a waiting area in the station. Use uber on the way back too if you want to cut costs. Enjoy!

Cab/Uber should be fine. I would not walk anywhere from the station. Enjoy your trip.
