Booking Question

We have been booked in a balcony cabin on the 10/28/17 Conquest sailing. I have been checking for a Ocean Suite for several months now and none have been available. Only 6 Grand Suites and the Captains Suites. Yesterday the web site showed a Ocean Suite price so I did a mock booking. It was a suite guarantee for the Ocean Suite price. Still showed none available on any booking sites. Why would Carnival offer this price if they only have the more expensive Grand Suites and Captain Suites? Thinking of upgrading but puzzled about the price. Any thoughts?

Since all OS are booked and only 4 of 10 GS are booked, Carnival is expecting to upsell some folks from OS to GS. Then they will move folks into any GS Gty they have sold. I had an OS for a 23 OCT 16 sailing on Pride, and recvd a call to see if I wanted to buy up to a GS (at a discount). I chose not to, but they eventually got the GS's sold out too. I booked the cruise two months out (Aug 16), and I got the upsell call (from OS to GS) one month from sailing (22SEP16). If you're hard up on having an OS (and we love that class of stateroom!) the I'd go ahead and book it. Then call your PVP and ask if you can be notified when one or more come open so that maybe you can pick which one you get.

Makes perfect sense, thanks!

It's possible that some suites are being held in Travel Agent groups. They'll need to return the unsold suites into the availability several months before final payment.
